This FREE 3o minute call offers an opportunity to connect, share backgrounds and discuss health and wellness priorities. The intention is to understand your needs and explore whether it makes sense to move forward together.

It is a relaxed, no obligation conversation guided by mutual curiosity and respect.

Functional Bodywork sessions are 1:1 sessions. These combine hands-on manual techniques with movement evaluation and prescription.

Each personalised treatment draws on techniques such as craniosacral balancing, muscle energy techniques, myofascial release, and mobility coaching to support healing, restore balance, and help you move with greater ease after injury, strain, or restricted motion.

What is Bodywork?

Bodywork is a broad field of manual therapy that uses skilled touch to support the body’s natural ability to heal, move and function with ease. It encompasses a variety of hands-on techniques – from Swedish and deep tissue massage to advanced methods such as Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Neuromuscular Techniques and Positional Release.

At its essence, bodywork aims not just to address pain and tension in isolated areas but to restore harmony throughout the entire body. Techniques target the soft tissues that influence posture and movement helping to release restrictions and unhealthy compensations in the body, regulate the nervous system and reconnect you / us with a deeper sense of balance and wholeness.

What can I expect in / during a typical session?

In your first session, we will begin with a brief health history taking to understand your background and any current concerns. This chat will also help me understand how to best support you in your wellness journey. This will be followed by a visual and hands-on (palpatory) assessment to observe posture, movement, and areas of tension or imbalance. Based on these findings, you will receive a tailored treatment. We will conclude the appointment with personalized recommendations to support your progress between sessions.

For follow-up sessions, we will begin with a brief check-in to update your current condition, followed by assessment and treatment tailored to the body’s needs on that particular day.

Who can benefit from a Holistic Bodywork session?

Bodywork can support a wide range of people, whether you are dealing with specific physical issues or simply looking to feel more at ease in your body.

Holistic Bodywork may help with concerns such as:

  • Muscle and joint pain (back, neck, shoulders, hips, feet, etc.)
  • Postural imbalances and / or restricted movement
  • TMJ tension
  • Tension headaches and migraines
  • Recovery from injury
  • Chronic stress, fatigue or burnout
  • Maintaining mobility and body awareness over time
How will I feel after a Holistic Bodywork session?

Most people feel relaxed, lighter or more grounded. You may feel the freedom from long-term aches and pains and increased energy which may last for days afterwards. Occasionally, you might feel emotional or tired, this is normal and usually passes quickly.

How should I prepare for a session?

Please allow a few minutes before and after your session so you are not feeling rushed. Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement. In some cases, you may be asked to undress to whatever level feels comfortable for you. Your comfort and privacy will always be respected.
